DAYTON-AREA DEFENSE FIRMS NAMED TO $20B CONTRACT

A pair of Dayton-area companies have been named to a massive defense contract. The awards have the potential to create more local jobs.

Riverside-based Evanhoe & Associates Inc. and E and I Solutions in Beavercreek are part of a recently awarded deal that is worth up to $20 billion. Evanhoe and E and I were among more than 200 firms named to the contract, but were the only Ohio companies listed on the award.

The contract, awarded by the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center, will be performed across all federal agencies. It was an on-ramp to an existing contract, which ends July 14, 2022.

The award is significant as it will bring in a substantial amount of new work for the local companies. It also helps strengthen the firms' relationship with the federal government, and may lead to future deals.

Chuck Evanhoe, owner and president of Evanhoe & Associates, said the contract won't immediately result in new hires, but it presents multiple opportunities for the company to grow. "We were an awardee on the SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) sister contract and won a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with the U.S. Marine Corps in the first few months of that contract," Evanhoe said. "We would expect similar opportunities with this contract."

Evanhoe currently employs 19 people locally and has 30 additional employees nationwide. It also works with some 30 subcontractors across the country. The firm has made multiple Dayton Business Journal lists, including minority-owned, veteran-owned and fastest-growing companies. The company's 2018 revenue stood at nearly $12 million, which represented a more than 6-percent jump from the previous year.
