Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Research Institute

Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Research Institute needed an improved labeling system for records and patient care items that would integrate information from their diverse legacy systems. Working with the internal IT department, Evanhoe & Associates installed and integrated Nationwide’s label printers, and provided continued Help Desk support once the solution was installed. This solution improved Nationwide’s inventory labeling, allowing them to reduce shrinkage of assets. Evanhoe & Associates’ relationship with Nationwide Children’s Hospital has lasted since 2002.

The Evanhoe & Associates labeling solution used both existing Windows drivers and embedded code translation for retrieving data from the legacy systems, which included Cobol systems and Crystal Reports. The resulting IT system is used at every nursing station, outpatient clinic, pharmacy, and laboratory in the enterprise. Evanhoe & Associates continues to support the enterprise as it introduces new systems to the infrastructure, as well as providing repair services for Nationwide’s over 150 bar code label printers.
