United States Air Force- Global Force Management
The Department of Defense (DoD) has mandated its branches to create a common vocabulary and data structure for use in force projection planning, and Evanhoe & Associates is currently leading the Air Force’s effort to develop a software application meeting this mandate. The application has established a joint-level force structure vocabulary and data structure, standardizing it across the Air Force and making the data visible, accessible, and understandable. Evanhoe & Associates’ software developers have been involved in the application’s development process since its creation in 2005, and since 2010 Evanhoe & Associates has provided complete sustainment and development of the application, aiding the Air Force branch director in winning a Federal Computer Week “Federal Top 100 Award” in March 2010.
In this software application, unique identifiers associate billets, crews, equipment types, doctrinal organizations, and chain of command links, enabling them to be electronically manipulated. The application establishes an information exchange data standard that enables DoD systems to exchange force structures, resources, and capabilities, supporting decision and risk analysis throughout the force assignment, allocation, and apportionment processes.
Most recently, the Evanhoe & Associates team has both sustained the application through two separate software releases and developed the software in accordance with DoD mandates to meet FOC (Full Operational Capability) requirements. Evanhoe & Associates personnel currently provide the lead architect, project management, and database and RIA sustainment support. In addition, Evanhoe & Associates has taken a lead role in the presentation of this application to senior leadership, including annual briefings to the Vice-Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (VCJCS). Recent development efforts on the application have included the incorporation of DISA’s Joint User Messaging (JUM) service and changes to the Information Exchange Data Model (IEDM) for FOC. The Evanhoe & Associates team also incorporated the Hudson Automated Testing Regimen into the most recent release to further improve testing effectiveness and responsiveness.
